Twitch Drops Guide and FAQ

Champions!

We're excited to announce that Twitch drops are coming to Paladins with the gen:LOCK Update coming July 21st. You will be able to earn Bounty Coins from watching your favorite streamers and progress towards using them on the items in our Bounty Store! The new Twitch Drops system will look and function a little differently than it used to when it was the Mixer Store, so keep reading for a rundown on what changes are coming to the system, which channels will offer Twitch Drops, and how to troubleshoot common issues with earning or claiming Twitch Drops.

WHAT'S NEW WITH TWITCH DROPS
The Bounty Coin system has been migrated over to Twitch's new drops system. This means you'll be able to better track your progress using the Twitch Drops Inventory page[twitch.tv] and get notified when you reach Bounty Coin milestones.

With the relaunched system, users will earn 5 Bounty Coins for every 4 hours watched. The weekly cap on drops accrual is still in place, so once you've earned all seven Bounty Coin milestones in the inventory, you'll be unable to earn any more points until the weekly cap resets. Resets will happen every Tuesday.

We're also excited to announce that the Twitch Drops system will be available for any channel streaming Paladins on Twitch! As long as the channel you're watching is streaming Paladins and has drops enabled, you'll be able to earn progress toward your Bounty Coin milestones. However, please note that if the channel you're watching stops playing Paladins, you'll also stop earning progress towards these Twitch Drops. You can visit any other stream in the Paladins category with drops enabled to continue your progress.

HOW TO EARN & CLAIM BOUNTY COINS
Bounty Coins via Twitch Drops are easy to earn! But there are a few additional steps you need to follow for the new system:

  • Step 1: Start watching twitch.tv/PaladinsGame (or any Paladins stream on Twitch with drops enabled when functionality is available)
  • Step 2: Keep track of your progress toward Bounty Coin milestones by visiting the Twitch Drops Inventory Page[twitch.tv]. You can also access this page via the "Drops" link in your user profile dropdown on Twitch.
  • Step 3: Watch the stream until you reach 100% progress on the drop.
  • Step 4: When progress is complete, you'll be prompted to claim your drop via Twitch chat or by visiting the Twitch Drops Inventory Page[twitch.tv]. You must claim the drop on Twitch before it will unlock in-game.
  • Step 5: After claiming the drop from your Twitch inventory, it will unlock your Bounty Coins in-game! Then you can continue watching to start progress toward the next Bounty Coin milestone.
NOTE: You must claim your Bounty Coin on Twitch before the campaign ends each Tuesday. Any unclaimed rewards cannot be claimed once a new week has started.

Please note that you must link your Hi-Rez and Twitch accounts in order to receive Bounty Coins. If you haven't linked your accounts yet, please visit https://my.hirezstudios.com/ to complete this process.

HOW TO ACTIVATE TWITCH DROPS FOR YOUR STREAM
If you're a Twitch streamer who would like to have drops active for your stream, the process is easy!

  • Step 1: Make sure your Twitch and Hi-Rez accounts are linked. Streamers who do not have linked accounts will be unable to activate drops on their channel.
  • Step 2: Visit your Creator Dashboard on Twitch and open the Drops tab.
  • Step 3: Toggle the option that says "Enable Drops"
  • Step 4: Stream Paladins! As long as you have drops enabled from your creator dashboard, Bounty Coin earnings via Twitch Drops should automatically turn on for your stream any time you're streaming to the Paladins category.
Just remember that if you switch to streaming a different game, viewers will stop earning progress toward their Bounty Coin milestones. Viewers are also unable to earn points for reruns of past Paladins streams.

TWITCH DROP TROUBLESHOOTING & FAQ
Do I need to have my accounts linked to earn Twitch Drops?
Yes, your Hi-Rez and Twitch accounts must be linked to redeem your rewards. If you haven't linked your accounts yet, Twitch will prompt you to link before you can claim a reward. You can also visit https://my.hirezstudios.com/ to link your accounts.

I've earned drops on Twitch. Where do I go to claim them?
Visit the Twitch Drops Inventory Page[twitch.tv] to redeem any Bounty Coin milestones you reach by watching Paladins streams.

Do I have to watch all four hours consecutively to earn the Bounty Coin milestone? Or can I leave the stream and come back later?
You don't have to watch consecutively! Twitch will save your progress toward each Bounty Coin milestone, so you can leave the stream and come back later in the day to continue progressing toward your reward. Please note that if you don't complete progress toward a Bounty Coin milestone before the weekly cap resets on Tuesdays, you will lose that progress when the new week of progress begins.

I have the Twitch stream open but I'm not progressing toward my Bounty Coin. What should I do?
If you're watching a Twitch stream with Twitch Drops enabled but aren't getting progress, please use the following troubleshooting steps to try and fix the issue:
Make sure you don't have the stream muted or minimized. When you mute or minimize streams, Twitch will stop counting you as an active viewer and will pause your progress toward a Bounty Coin milestone.
Make sure you're set to appear as "Online" on Twitch.
Log out of Twitch, clear your cache, refresh the page, and log back in.

If you're trying to earn points by watching on a console or by casting a stream to your TV via Chromecast or a similar functionality, you may need to switch to a different platform in order to earn progress towards Bounty Coins. There have been widespread reports about Twitch drops progress not working when users try to watch via console browsers, console apps, and Chromecast/AirPlay. This appears to be a Twitch-side issue, so until they address the progress interruptions on console/casting devices, affected users can try switching to PC or a mobile device to continue accruing Bounty Coin progress.

I redeemed a Bounty Coin milestone in Twitch but I don't have it in-game. What should I do?
Sometimes it can take a few hours for a claimed reward to appear for you in-game. Relogging your Paladins client or playing a few games may help your reward pop faster. But if none of those solutions work, try unlinking and relinking your Twitch account with your Hi-Rez account. This usually fixes any bad link states that can lead to rewards not popping in-game.
